1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Second Quote ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Description of service
Second Quote is a marketplace that connects vehicle owners with trusted auto care partners. You upload an existing repair estimate; we extract the details and invite vetted shops in your area to submit competing bids. You compare bids and choose a shop. We do not perform repairs, sell parts, or handle payment between you and shops.
3. User accounts and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any account credentials. Guest users (phone-verified without a password) may submit estimates and view bids without creating a full account.
4. Shop relationships
Trusted auto care partners are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Second Quote. We vet shops before admitting them to the platform, but we do not guarantee the quality of work, pricing accuracy, or timeliness of any repair. All agreements for service are directly between you and the shop you choose.
5. Bids and pricing
Bids are estimates provided by shops based on the information you upload. Final pricing may vary after in-person inspection. Second Quote does not set prices, mark up bids, or take a cut from drivers. Shops pay a commission to Second Quote only when their bid wins and the job is booked.
6. Prohibited conduct
You may not: (a) upload false or fraudulent estimates; (b) harass shops or other users; (c) scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the Platform; (d) interfere with the bidding process; or (e) use the Platform for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
7. Intellectual property
All content, trademarks, and software on the Platform are owned by Second Quote or its licensors. You retain ownership of estimates and other content you upload, and grant us a limited license to use that content solely to operate and improve the Platform.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Second Quote is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform or any repair performed by a shop. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (which is $0 for drivers).
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
10. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
